10 DAYS UGANDA SAFARI.
Overview.
In this 10 days Uganda safari, Mother Nature is perfectly revealed in Uganda, from plants, mammals, primates, and fascinating landscape among others. In the quest of one creature, the other comes in any of these parks; Queen Elizabeth national park for Africa’s big 5, Murchison falls national park for the world’s powerful waterfalls, Semuliki National Park for a complete birding list, Bwindi impenetrable national park for the endangered mountain Gorillas, and Lake Bunyonyi for refreshment.
Activities in this package include among others, Gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking, birding, canoeing, boat cruise and cultural adventure among others. This trip starts and ends in Kampala – Uganda, with all transfers, accommodation and other services perfectly sorted.
Detailed trip.
Day 1: Pick up and drive to Murchison Falls National Park.
Upon landing at Entebbe international airport, you will be welcomed by our driver-guide, who, with endless smiles, and conquering smartness will explain a few details regarding this 10 days trip, plus have a sip of Juice with you before the Journey to Murchison Fall national park commences.
This is the largest, and the oldest national park in the country, gifted with a variety of flora and fauna, and home to the world’s largest waterfalls. A drive to it lasts for approximately 5-6 hours, with an hour stopover at ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking and lunch thereafter. You will arrive at the park in the evening for some relaxation, followed by dinner and overnight sleep.
Day 2: Game drive, boat cruise and top of the falls hike.
After enjoying a lip-smacking breakfast meal at the lodge, you will drive to the northern sector for a rewarding 3-4 hour game drive to the northern sector where the eyes will meet with a variety of mammals such as the lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs and several antelope species among others, plants such as the whistling acacia, and Borassus among others; breathtaking landscape, and primates such as the baboons, monkeys among others.
After the game drive experience, you will have a lunch break, followed by an exciting afternoon 2-3 hour boat cruise at the Nile, inhabited by the giant Nile crocodiles, hippos, elephants at the shoreline, and birds among others. The boat goes to the bottom of the falls; the most powerful waterfall in the world, and a hike to the top of the fall where you will have a close look at the dramatic falls and their permanent rainfall. A return to the lodge at sunset takes you for dinner and a peaceful nap.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.
This is a long day drive to Kibale forest national park; home to over 13 primate species thus a need for early morning breakfast and check-out. You will have a lunch en route whereas arrival at the lodge will be in the evening, after traversing rolling hills, green vegetation, and dotted homesteads set up in an African way. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Chimp tracking and Isunga cultural experience.
You will start this day with a tasty cup of coffee at the lodge and then drive to the park headquarters for briefing and the ultimate Chimpanzee trekking experience in a jungle hosting over 13 unique primates, of which you will encounter one at a time, through the main focus is fixed on the chimpanzees, that you will spend about 1-6 hours tracking deep into the jungle. Chimpanzees are man’s closest relatives, with over 98.7% DNA and behavior.
You will depart the park after tracking for lunch, followed by an exciting experience at Isunga cultural community; dance, drama and top of the world hike. Dinner and overnight at the lodge at sunset.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Today, you will have a relaxed breakfast meal at the lodge, and then hit the road to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a 4-5 hour drive, while capturing the beautiful views of the snowcapped Mountain Rwenzori backdrop, flourishing plantation and scattered homesteads.
You will have lunch, and then spend the evening relaxing at the lodge, as dinner and overnight comes at the appropriate time.
Day 6: Game drive and Kazinga Channel boat cruise.
Start this day with a sunrise breakfast meal at the lodge, before heading for a 3-4 hour game drive across the vast breathtaking park; with chances of encountering the elephants, Warthogs, Cape Buffaloes, Zebras, Lions, several antelope species and leopards among others, birds, primates and reptiles.
A tasty bush breakfast will be a bonus experience in the wild, before having a lunch a break. In the afternoon, you will have a 2-3 hour boat cruise at Kazinga channel, invested with crocodiles, and hippos, plus several bird species and mammals among others. Enjoy a happy dinner and a sunset nap and also a campfire experience if you so wish.
Day 7: Tree climbing lion tracking at Ishasha to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After Breakfast, you will check out of the lodge for a drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park; a true jungle with half of the world’s mountain Gorilla concentration, via the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP where you will be spending 2-3 hours on a game drive, with hopes of spotting one or more lions relaxing at a tree branch.
Thereafter lunch follows, before proceeding with the drive to one of the four sectors at Bwindi impenetrable national park. End this day with dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Gorilla tracking and the Batwa pygmies encounter.
On this day of reuniting with your cousins; the rare mountain Gorillas, you will get done with your hefty breakfast at birds call, and then head to the park headquarters for registration and Briefing. This is done by the park rangers who will explain the trekking rules, and locate you to the Gorilla group of your choice. Gorilla trekking move from one territory to another each day, and tracking them starts from where they were last seen the previous day, for approximately 1-8 hours depending on your speed, and the direction the creatures have taken.
An extra one hour will be yours to spend taking photos and know more about the gorillas, before driving back to the lodge for lunch, followed by a cultural encounter with the Batwa pygmies for an exciting cultural excitement. Dinner and overnight at the lodge at sunset.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – evening refreshment.
Today, we make time for refreshment at the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi, surrounded by over 27 historical islands. You will checkout of the lodge after breakfast and then enjoy a 2-3 hour drive to the lake, with a welcome lunch.
The afternoon will be spared for a canoe experience, swimming if you love it and relaxation by the lake shores while listing and watching birds sing and settle at their nests. End this day with a yummy dinner meal and a nap.
Day 10: Departure.
After having a great night of sleep, you will greet your intestines with a delicious cup of coffee, then check out of the lodge for a safe drive to Entebbe international airport for your flight to the next destination.
On the way, you will have a stopover for lunch at the equator, where you will double the fun with the view of the dramatic demonstration by the experts.
