This safari across the top tourist attraction in Uganda sets your heart to the beauty hidden in Mother Nature, the mammals, birds, and unique plant species among others. To mention, you will visit Queen Elizabeth national park home to the tree-climbing lions, Bwindi impenetrable national park – home to the rare endangered mountain gorillas and Murchison Falls national park; home to the world’s most powerful waterfall, Semliki national park for birding and Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.
You will enjoy a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, game viewing, photography, birding, and rhino tracking among others. The trip starts and ends at Entebbe international airport, but after each day offering a unique encounter.
Detailed tour.
Day 1: Arrival.
Upon landing at Entebbe international airport, our company representative will gladly meet and pick you up for your very exciting safari experience in Uganda; the pearl of Africa. You will sip a glass of Juice and find your questions answered, before transferring to your lodge for a rest from the long Journey.
If time permits, then you will have a tour around Kampala city, visiting the museum and the local markets among other rewarding destinations around the city. End the day with dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison fall national park- ziwa Rhino sanctuary
On this day, you will leave Kampala city for Murchison Fall national park after breakfast. A drive lasts for roughly 5-6 hours, plus an extra hour spent tracking the rare white Rhinos at ziwa Rhino sanctuary at Nakasongola district. Thereafter Lunch follows, before proceeding with the scenic drive to the park, while enjoying the breathtaking views of plantations, busying streets, and undulating hills. You will arrive at your lodge in or outside the park late in the evening for dinner and a nap.
Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise
Make a good morning start with a yummy breakfast meal at the lodge, followed by a rewarding game drive in the northern sector of the park, where birds, plants, primates, and mammals call home, notably; lions, elephants, herds of cape buffaloes, variety of Antelope species, and many more, crested cranes, Turacos and the Egyptian geese.
Thereafter, you will have a lunch break, followed by a rewarding 2-3 hour boat cruise to the bottom of the mighty Murchison waterfall, as it thunders while pouring on the victoria Nile through a seven-meter gorge. Take photos, watch what is happening and explore before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park.
At day crack, you will check out of the lodge for an exciting transfer to Kibale Forest; home to over 13 unique primate species co-existing in one jungle. The drive lasts for roughly 9 – 10 hours, with an enroute stopover for lunch.
You need to have all eyes open to capture the flourishing vegetation, undulating hills and fascinating infrastructure in the towns. You will arrive at your lodge late in the evening for dinner and a nap.
Day 5: Primate trekking and visiting Bigodi swamp.
AT sunrise, you will have a cup of coffee, followed by a drive to the park headquarters for registration and briefing. You will be told the dos and don’ts of chimp tracking, before entering the Jungle for your ultimate experience. It can take about 1-5 hours to locate the primates, yet encountering and enjoying melodies from several other residents notably; grey-cheeked monkeys, baboons, Columbus monkeys, and many more.
When you find the Chimps, don’t forget the dos and don’ts, yet take the additional one hour to take photos, ask questions and uncover their unique characteristics. After having the rare encounter with your lost relatives, you will have a lunch break, followed by a hike at Bigodi forest; a Ramsar site with primates, birds, and the local natives carrying on with their daily chores.
Day 6: Transfer to Semuliki national park – evening visit to Sempaya hot springs.
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge for a drive to semiliki national park- a birders haven. The drive offers amazing views of the rolling hills, green vegetation, and scattered homesteads. You will arrive at the park for lunch and then visit the magnificent Sempaya hot springs.
Sightseeing, photography, and stories make up this evening, yet with even an opportunity of you boiling an egg to the eating point. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at sunset.
Day 7: Morning Birding and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Start your day with a delicious breakfast meal at the lodge, and then through the guidance of an experienced birder, you will be guided through a forest trail with a variety of bird species; endemic and non-endemic to the region. Semiliki is home to over 40% of the total bird species in the country. Some of the names include; the leaf-love, Turacos, piping Hornbill, white-created hornbill, the white-throated blue swallow and the sought-after shoebill stock among others.
At noon, you will return for lunch at the lodge and then checkout for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park; Uganda’s most visited national park, and a medley of wonders. Arrival at the lodge will be late in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Game drive and boat cruise.
At daybreak, you will great your intestines with a heavy breakfast meal at the lodge, and then drive to the wild for a 3-4 hour game viewing experience. There is no assurance attached to spotting all the mammals present at the park, especially the Lions, and leopards, but what is clear is that the entire experience of rotating around the park is unforgettable, with various mammals, birds and primates coming your way, besides the rolling hills and unique plant species; Notable creatures are; buffalos, Turacos, warthogs, Uganda kobs, zebras, giraffes, and many more.
After the adventure, you will have a lunch break, followed by an exciting boat cruise at the Kazinga channel for about 2-3 hours, while spotting the crocodiles, hippos, and several aquatic birds among others.
End the day with dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Lion tracking at Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
On this day, you will check out of the lodge after breakfast and then drive to the Ishasha sector to track the tree-climbing lions, which you may chance to find resting on the tree branch, roaming on the ground or even miss.
After the game drive, Lunch follows at the same Ishasha area, before you can proceed with your journey to one of the four sectors of Bwindi impenetrable national park, an asylum to half of the world’s endangered mountain Gorillas population. End this day with dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Gorilla trekking and Batwa pygmies encounter.
Start this day with an energy-giving cup of coffee, and then join your friends if any at the sector headquarters for registration and briefing. During the briefing, time is when the park rangers explain the trekking rules, allocate members to the Gorilla families, and accompany you deep into the Jungle for the search, which starts from the point where the apes were last spotted.
Mountain Gorillas possess over 95% of Human DNA, related features, and social settings. Tracking lasts for approximately 1-8 hours, and an additional one hour for taking photos and watch them play, feed or ask questions. Thereafter, you will return to the lodge for lunch, followed by an after cultural encounter with the Batwa pygmies, former hunters, and gatherers in the lush tropical forest of Bwindi and Mgahinga. After enjoying the stories, songs, and dance, you will then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Relaxation at Lake Bunyonyi.
After taking in the Vitamin D, then taste the mouthwatering breakfast meal, before checking out of the lodge for a drive to Lake Bunyonyi; once described as second Switzerland in the continent of Africa. You will have your lunch by the shoreline, and then spend the rest of the hours exploring the lake on a canoe, or by swimming.
Over 27 islands, with historical significance, surround this lake, yet with a very beautiful atmosphere and environment. You will rest at the end of the day with dinner and a nap at the lodge.
Day 12: Departure.
At sunrise, you will consume your breakfast meal at the lodge, and then bid farewell to your friends before checking out of the lodge for a drive to the airport for your departure. The drive lasts for about 7-8 hours with an en-route stopover for Lunch. There is an option of departing from Kigali Tanzania, a 3-4 hour drive.
