Overview.
This is a perfect combination of well-assorted destinations in the four countries of East Africa, with the finest landscapes, a variety of mammals, birds, and primates. You will visit Volcanoes national park in Rwanda, Queen Elizabeth national park, Semuliki National Park and Kibale Forest National Park in Uganda, Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara national reserve in Kenya, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro crater in Tanzania.
Each day presents an opportunity to relax, explore, and learn, with the following well-selected activities; game drive, boat cruise, Kigali city tour, bird watching, guided nature walk, photography, gorilla, cultural experience, and chimpanzee trekking among others. The trip starts in Rwanda and ends in Tanzania.
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival and Kigali City Tour.
On this first day of your 21 days experience, you will be welcomed by our expert driver-guide; clad in safari attire and unending smiles and ready for the adventure.
A briefing will be held after which a glass of Juice will seal the friendship and then a tour around Kigali city; one of the safest and cleanest cities in the world, visiting the local markets and the museum to purchase some items. In the mix of the city experience will you visit have lunch, before heading to the lodge for lunch and overnight.
Day 2: Genocide Memorial Site and Volcanoes National Park.
At daybreak, you will tune your body for the safari with a hefty cup of coffee, after which there will be a visit to the Genocide memorial site; a point where over 25000 victims of the Hutu and Tutsi 1994 conflict were buried. 2-3 hours at this place enable you to understand the effects of a conflict and say No to genocide activities.
Thereafter lunch will be served, after which you will embark on a 2-3 hour drive to volcanoes national park; traversing the rolling hills, dotted homesteads, and many more. You will refresh upon arrival at the Lodge, like dinner and a nap follows.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking and Musanze cave exploration.
After the last dot of coffee In your lips, pick all the essential items and drive to the park headquarters for registration, and briefing by the park rangers; who with a wealth of knowledge will explain the unique life of gorillas, assign you a gorilla group and then spell out the do’s and don’ts while in the jungle.
Gorillas possess over 95% human-like genes and attributes and are believed to have the same origin as us. Depending on your speed and the distance the apes have taken, you might need approximately 1-6 hours, plus a maximum of one hour of watching and taking photos of the silverback, black backs, mothers, and infants. After you will return to the lodge for lunch and refreshment, and then spend then visit the Musanze cave for a 1-hour exploration, inside the huge Musanze cave, occupied by a colony of Bats. The day ends with dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Volcanoes National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
A fresh morning in such a wonderful destination starts with a lip-smacking cup of coffee and a cool sunrise view. Thereafter you will checkout of the lodge for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, one of the most visited national parks in Uganda.
The route will be via the Ishasha sector, where you seek to find the tree-climbing lions either on the tree branches or roaming on the ground. Thereafter lunch will follow, before proceeding with the drive to your lodge for refreshment, dinner, and overnight.
Day: 5: Game drive and Kazinga channel boat cruise.
On this day, you will greet your intestines with a tasty cup of coffee early morning, before paying a visit to the lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, cheetahs, warthogs, and several antelope species among others, birds such as the Turacos, cranes, and lovebirds among others, breathtaking landscape, and cool weather among others. Any resident that will come your way can start up the day; meanwhile finding cats such as lions, and leopards are rare.
After the game drive, you will have lunch and then enjoy an afternoon boat cruise at the vast Kazinga channel, for a remarkable boat cruise, where you will capture the beautiful sights of the crocodiles, hippos, kingfisher, and other mammals at the shoreline, quenching their thirst or resting. You will call the day finished at the lodge with dinner and a nap.
Day 6: Transfer to Semuliki National Park – Sempaya hot springs.
At birds call, you will check out of the lodge after breakfast for Semiliki national park, a true birders haven, with over 10% of the bird species in the world. A mention of the drive experience is that it is smooth, with a variety of breathtaking landscapes, cool climate, and flourishing plantations but with an en-route stopover for lunch. The evening will be spent at the Sempaya hot springs, where you can boil an egg and eat. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 7: Full day birding.
This entire day is dedicated to birding watching, but not removing the fact that you will start with breakfast and lunch thereafter. Semiliki national park prides on a concentration of over 10% of the bird species in the world, and over 40% of Uganda’s bird list, endemic and non-endemic, trees and the landscape. You will return to the lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.
After breakfast at sunrise, you will exit the park for Kibale forest national park; home to over 13 unique primate species, with chimpanzees dominating the Jungle. The drive lasts for roughly 5-7 hours, with a lunch en-route, but after enjoying an amazing view of the landscape, homesteads, and plantations among others. You will check in to the lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Chimpanzee trekking.
After breakfast early morning, you will exit for Kibale forest park headquarters for briefing and document verification. Chimpanzee tracking lasts for about 1-5 hours, plus an extra hour for watching and taking the photos, as they play, feed, or relax. Chimpanzees are vegetarians, living mostly on tree branches and ground at leisure.
After chimpanzee tracking, you will return to the lodge for lunch, and then decide to either rest in the lodge or visit Bigodi forest to encounter more plants, birds, and primates, but not forgetting the local natives carrying on with their daily chores. Call off the day with a hefty dinner meal and overnight.
Day 10: Fly to Nairobi – Kenya.
After breakfast, our driver-guide will hit the road to Entebbe international airport for a flight to Nairobi Kenya, but with a stopover at the equator; a point where a confirmatory demonstration is done to prove the marginal line dividing the world in the southern and northern hemisphere.
You will have lunch and some photos. Upon landing at Nairobi, our company representative will meet and brief you about the entire experience and then drive to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 11: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park.
After breakfast, you will get behind the sterling for an epic drive to lake Nakuru national park; one of Kenya’s top safari destinations, and home to the rare pink flamingoes, kingfisher, and many more. The drive to the park exposes you to unique plants and the giant Great Rift Valley. You will enter the park in the evening for refreshment, dinner, and overnight.
Day 12: Nature walk and boat cruise.
Waking up happy and active, you will just spend about two hours exploring the park one foot, admiring the landscape, plant species and the mammals feeding on a distance.
Lunch will be served in the afternoon, after which you will spend the evening hours at Lake Nakuru shoreline identifying the birds such as the flamingoes flying and playing. Take photos and let the park ranger explain what you don’t understand, before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 13: Lake Nakuru National Park to Masai Mara National Reserve.
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge for a wonderful drive to Masai Mara national park; the most visited national park in the country, with over 20% of the world’s lion population. The route to the park gives you a perfect view of the breathtaking landscape, the Great Rift Valley where you will stop for some photos, and plantations. At Nurus trading center, Lunch will be served, before you proceed to the park for dinner and overnight.
Day 14: Full day game drive.
On this day, the beautiful sunrise will usher you to the wild, where animals like; lions, leopards, elephants, wildebeests, cheetah, wildebeests, and many more call home. It is a full-day game search, with breakfast and lunch in the wild.
Exploring the Mara River in the evening hours will expose you to not only the landscape and water, but also to the aquatic life, and visitors; notably, Hippos, crocodiles, wildebeests, and many more. Bring this day to an end with dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 15: Check out and cross to Tanzania – Serengeti National Park.
Start your day with a hefty breakfast meal at the lodge, you will checkout for a drive to Serengeti national park in Tanzania; a top safari destination in Tanzania; home to the natural phenomenon, the annual wildebeest migration in the Serengeti-Masai Mara ecosystem.
Your documents will be verified at the Tanzania- Kenya border post before you enjoy Lunch meal thereafter, but proceed to the park with breath-taking vegetation, landscape, and cool air. End this day with dinner and overnight.
Day 16: Full day Game drive.
After breakfast, you will drive to the seroneri region or Serengeti national park to find the flora, prey, and predators inhabiting the vast Serengeti plains, notably the elephants, wildebeests, cape Buffaloes, cheetah, zebras, lions, and leopards among others, birds, and unique primates among others. It is lucky, to spot the lions, cheetahs, and leopards, though present in the park. You will have bush breakfast and picnic lunch at the jungle, but dinner and a night of peaceful sleep at the lodge.
Day 17: Full day cultural experience.
Start this day with a breakfast meal at the lodge, and then drive to the Maasai community, for a complete cultural adventure, enjoying the dance, drama, and tour around the Maasai Community, where you will uncover their ways of life, local cuisine, dress code and songs among others. The Masai are herdsmen, who have upheld the practices of their forefathers; depending on cattle products for livelihood. Your lunch meal will come in the community, before driving back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 18: Drive to Ngorongoro Crater.
After an amazing night, kick start your day with a delicious breakfast meal at the lodge, before checking out for a transfer to Ngorongoro crater; home to the world’s largest land caldera and Africa’s Big 5. You will drive to your lodge in or around the park, arriving for lunch, some relaxation, followed by dinner and overnight.
Day 19: Game drive and top of the crater hike.
Start this day with a lip-smacking breakfast meal at the lodge, and then drive to the different regions of the park, looking out for the prey, predators, plants, and primates roaming around the park as they feed, play or rest, notably; the elephants, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, Buffaloes, Rhinos, and wildebeest among others.
The drive may last for roughly 3-4 hours, before a picnic lunch break. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a top of crater hike, photos, and a beautiful view of the landscape. End this day with dinner and overnight.
Day 20: Departure.
At sunrise, you will have a relaxed breakfast meal at the lodge and then exit for your flight through Kilimanjaro international airport.
