Overview.
Join our 3 days Amboseli National Park Safari to explore Kenya’s 392-square kilometer Conservation Area, across the Kenya-Tanzania border. Regardless of its small size, this National Park is the second-most visited and famous tourist destination in Kenya after Masai Mara National Reserve.
If you ever desired to get up-close with free-ranging elephants, this Park is where your safari should be based and also look-out for the spotted hyenas, cheetahs, African wild dogs, Cape buffaloes, Grant’s zebras, Mongoose, Impalas, Masai giraffes, nocturnal porcupines, lesser kudu, lions, wildebeests, Hyrax, cheetahs and many others. The Park is also known for its prolific birdlife that comprises of over 600 species and with a backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, the park offers the most incredible photographic views.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Nairobi City to Amboseli National Park.
Have breakfast and with your luggage wait for a pick-up from your safari driver, as well as transfer to Amboseli National Park. Transfer southwards to Namanga along the Kenya-Tanzania border and arrive in the afternoon. You will be welcomed by views of elephants, Rhinoceros, buffaloes, Masai giraffes, cheetahs, olive baboons, wildebeests and Grant’s zebras as you proceed to your place of stay for lunch.
This park’s sleek location on the lower slopes of the breathtaking snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro combined with the savannah grasslands on which the animals roam form the best background for photography. Your evening will be calm and characterized by delicious dinner and overnight stay with the sound of the animals in the wilderness.
Day 2: Full day to explore Amboseli National Park.
Your camera should be well functioning and have enough memory space as well as extra batteries before you leave the lodge because you wouldn’t want last minute disappointments when it comes to capturing unforgettable moments during the game drive. Have breakfast and meet with your safari driver who will take you through the game drive where unrivalled views of hippos, elephants, Grant’s zebras, cape buffaloes, lions and leopards are captured. Make sure to briefly stop at the observation hill where you will get 180-degree views of the park and while driving, look-out for Somalia Ostriches, pelicans and Egyptian goose during the game drive. The game drive ends after 3-4 hours of exploring the key hot spots with numerous wildlife and birdlife, followed by picnic lunch and continues after a short rest.
Make sure not to miss out on the tour of Masai Village, one of the must-do activities during Kenya safaris. Nothing takes your breath away like learning about the captivating culture of these people. Undertake tours of their mud-hut homes, Masai Shukas, colorful beads and cloths and not forgetting their invigorating dance performances. After an exhausting but rewarding time for game drives and being in the presence of the Masai people, retreat to the lodge for mouthwatering dinner and slumber.
Day 3: Morning game drive and return back to Nairobi City.
Begin your final day with a wonderful breakfast and leave the lodge with a thrilling game drive, with lunch along the way and arrive Nairobi city early afternoon. Continue with your safari to other destinations of Kenya or be transferred to the airport for a flight back home.
