3 DAYS LAKE NAKURU & NAIVASHA SAFARI.
Overview.
The 3 days Lake Nakuru & Naivasha Safari leads visitors to the two main breathtaking Lakes within the Rift Valley Province of magical Kenya. This Safari can be summarized as a birding tour although several wildlife species should also be expected.
Animals such as black and white Rhinos, leopards, elephants, Masai giraffes, zebras, Cape buffaloes, lions as well as bird species especially the White-fronted bee-eater, African Jacana, Flamingos, Goliath Herons, African fish eagles, Great white Egrets, Grey-crowned cranes, pink-backed pelicans, Saddle-billed storks and many others. Activities to expect during this short safari are boat ride, game drives and bird watching.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi City to Lake Naivasha.
On the very first day of your safari, our Company representative (same time your safari driver) will pick you up from the Hotel or any other location in Nairobi City after a lovely breakfast. Leave the vibrant city by 8:00am for the incredible Lake Naivasha with a stop at the Great Rift Valley for photography and continue with the scenic drive to your final destination. The journey lasts 3-4 hours and lunch will be ready by the time you arrive at the lodge, to allow you immediately undertake a boat ride on this dumfounding Lake.
The one-hour boat ride is not only a perfect birding experience but also wildlife viewing adventure with African fish eagles, flamingos, Rhinos, Crocodiles and Pink-backed pelicans among others. Relax for the remainder of the afternoon and in the evening undertake a guided leisure/nature walk, then get back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Drive from Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru National Park.
Rise with the sun for breakfast at the Lodge and exit Lake Naivasha National Park. Connect to Lake Nakuru National Park, also within the Rift Valley region and about 2 hours’ drive away. Upon arrival at the birding Paradise, undertake a game drive that will lead you to the Lodge for Lunch. Expect to see Cape buffaloes, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, impalas, Klipspringer, Masai giraffes and Hippos.
In the afternoon explore the Park through a game drive where you expect to encounter more of the park’s wildlife such as Kirk’s Dik-Dik, Defassa waterbucks, Klipspringer, Thomson’s gazelles, black-backed jackals, Honey badger, African golden cats and many others. Bird species such as greater and lesser flamingos, Rhinos, yellow-billed storks, little bee-eaters, Palmnut vultures and grey herons among others should also be expected during the game drive. Finalize the game drive late evening then transfer to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Return back to Nairobi City.
Your safari ends on this day and before leaving Lake Nakuru National Park first have breakfast and undertake your last game drive that will increase your chances of encountering more of this park’s rich wildlife diversity.
Depart for Nairobi city with lunch along the way and be dropped at the hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
