Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Drive from Nairobi City to Masai Mara National Reserve.
Briefing by your safari driver/guide on the short safari and then embark on the scenic drive to Masai Mara National Park, with en-route stopover at the Great Rift Valley to admire the breathtaking views of the iconic natural features and take photos. This Rift Valley sprawls from the far north to the south of magical Kenya and arrival into the Reserve in the afternoon, but while driving to the Lodge look-out for the elephants, olive baboons, buffaloes, giraffes and wildebeests.
Settle for Lunch at the Lodge and relax to rejuvenate your body/energy. Set-out for an evening game drive where you will see lions, leopards, cheetahs, side-striped jackals, Masai giraffes, Thomson’s gazelles, striped hyenas and bat-eared fox among others. Drive back to the Lodge for unwinding, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Whole day Masai Mara Exploration and Masai Village Walk.
Breakfast is followed by a half day game drive through some of the well-maintained game tracks of Masai Mara National Reserve to spot hundreds of elephants, Grant’s gazelles, warthogs, olive baboons, lions, cheetahs, zebras, Rhinos, Thomson’s gazelles and side-striped jackals among others. Drive to the Mara River, whereby if the safari is during season offers chances of witnessing the wildebeest migration-a natural wonder that should never miss on your bucket list. The River collects numerous animals that gather to drink water and perfect wildlife viewing experiences are achieved during the dry season.
Have a picnic lunch in the wilderness of this National Reserve and head for the guided tour to the stunning Masai Village to experience their pastoralist lifestyle. Admire their jewelries (bright-beaded earrings), traditional wear (Shuka) and footwear (made out of worn out car tires) and be entertained by their exciting traditional songs and dances. Drive back to the lodge for a cold shower, relaxation, dinner and overnight after the long day.
Day 3: Transfer back to Nairobi City.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the Lodge and leave Masai Mara National Reserve for Nairobi City. A game drive while exiting this Reserve increases your chances of spotting more of the Park’s wildlife and bird species. Have a stop in one of the city restaurants for lunch and connect to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home.
End of your 3 days Masai Mara Safari.
