Detailed safari.
Day 1: Pickup and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Start your trip in high spirit with a warm welcome from our expert driver-guide at the airport. He will brief you about the entire trip, before hitting the road on an 8-9 hours’ drive to Mgahinga National Park, while enjoying the blistering views of the landscape, lush vegetation and scattered homesteads.
You will have a stopover for lunch but arrive at the park late in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and the Batwa cultural encounter.
After breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for an exciting pre trekking briefing by the park rangers. They will explain the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking, assign you to a gorilla family, and then the search begins, spending about 1-6 hours, through the jungle with amazing encounters of birds, primates and unique plant species.
Upon locating the apes, you will watch the apes enjoying their peace while feeding, playing, or resting. Thereafter, you will exit the park to the lodge for lunch, followed by an afternoon exposure to one of the shortest people on earth; the Batwa pygmies. With them, you will listen to amazing stories, have a village community walk and participate in the singing, before driving to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Departure.
Right after enjoying a relaxed breakfast meal at the lodge, you will checkout for a drive to the airport for your flight to the next destinations. Lunch will be at the equator, where experts will prove to you what happens at the point in which the marginal lines divide the world into the northern and southern hemispheres.
End of safari.
