Overview.
The 5 days Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Lake Manyara Safari is one of the most amazing Tanzania safaris taking visitors to the majestic Ngorongoro Crater, spectacular Serengeti National Park and Lake Manyara National Park foe game viewing, Masai culture adventure, bird watching and walking safaris. With the animal check-list of big five animals (buffaloes, Rhinos, lions-usual and the tree climbing lions, elephants and leopards), wildebeests, zebras, Masai giraffes, bushbucks, spotted hyenas, cheetahs, serval cats and many other wildlife species, there is no excuse for not taking on this short safari.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Drive from Arusha Town to Lake Manyara National Park.
Pick-up from any destination within Arusha Town by our Company representative after a short briefing on the safari, followed by transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. Lunch on arrival, followed by evening game drive with the possibility of encountering the tree climbing lions found in only two places in the whole world (here and Ishasha sector, in the south of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda).
Other animals to see during the game drive are wildebeests, zebras, Masai giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, Masai giraffes, elephants and warthogs among others. The Park is also an excellent birding destination, especially if you wish to see the flamingos. Meals and overnight will be at the wilderness Lodge in Lake Manyara National Park.
Day 2: Half day Game drive in Lake Manyara National Park and transfer to Serengeti National Park.
Breakfast and game drive through the Park where more of the wildlife species, especially those not seen the previous day will be encountered. After the game drive, proceed to the Lodge for Lunch and exit the Park for Serengeti National Park. The evening game drive through Serengeti National Park rewards visitors with the sunset views of Africa’s wilderness in addition to nocturnal life such as cheetahs, lions, leopards, and hyenas among others. Be transferred to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Full day Serengeti National Park adventure.
You will have a full day to explore the magnificent and endowed Serengeti National Park, home to the wildebeest migration where millions of wildebeests, zebras and Thomson gazelles migrate from this Park to Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve. Breakfast and with your Lunch box embark on the full-day game drive that will introduce you to everything Africa offers in terms of wildlife, birdlife and wilderness experience.
Expect possible sighting of lions, wildebeests, zebras, elephants, Masai giraffes, Thomson gazelles, Roan antelopes, Oribis, warthogs, Reedbucks, Klipspringers, Defassa waterbucks, common elands, cheetahs, serval cats, Jackals and bush pigs among others. Picnic Lunch at the Rock kopjes or a good tree shade and continue to the game drive until evening when you leave to your Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Drive to Ngorongoro Crater; game drive on arrival.
Be served breakfast, check-out of the Lodge/or Tented Camp and with a game drive exit Serengeti National Park for your next destination. Make sure to have packed Lunch then leave for Ngorongoro Crater, through the magnificent Ol Duvai Gorge Museum for an insight into the discovery of the early man skull by Dr. Leakey in the 1960s.
Arrive in the afternoon for the Crater Tour, rewarding with photogenic views of the largest Volcanic Caldera in the whole World. Interestingly, the Crater Lake also teems with wide range of wildlife species such as Hippos, Kobs, elephants, warthogs, Jackals, Hippos, wildebeests, Lions and zebras among others, not forgetting bird species such as flamingos, Ostriches, Open-billed storks, secretary birds, Augur Buzzard and Kori Bastard among others. Proceed to the Lodge for a mouth-watering meal and overnight stay.
Day 5: Another Ngorongoro Crater tour and return to Arusha.
Early breakfast and meet-up with your Safari driver/guide for a game drive that will mark the end of your safari. Expect to see cheetahs, spotted hyenas, Black Rhinos, zebras, wildebeests, Thomson gazelles, warthogs, Defassa waterbucks and many more. Retreat to the Lodge to freshen-up, enjoy Lunch and leave for Arusha for overnight stay or to the Airport for departure to the next safari destination or back home.
