6 DAYS BWINDI AND MASAI MARA SAFARI.
Overview.
Feel the wilderness, face Mother Nature, and confirm the presence of rare flora and fauna in the unmatched safari destinations in the east of the continent of Africa. Here we talk of 6 days spent exploring Uganda’s home of the rare mountain gorillas – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Kenya’s pride; Masai Mara National Park.
You will have a back-to-back encounter with unique flora and fauna, primates, plants, and birds; while tracking the Gorillas, viewing game, and cultural encounter. This trip runs through two countries; Uganda and Kenya, with nights spent in comfortable accommodation facilities, and transfers in amazing safari vehicles. We start these six days in Uganda and end in Kenya
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival.
Today, you will land at the airport for your exciting 6 days adventure in Two of East Africa’s top safari destinations; Bwindi impenetrable national park for Gorillas and Masai Mara national park for wildlife.
Our company representative will welcome and brief you about whatever you need to expect for the safari, before visiting Uganda Museum for history and cultural enlightenment, and then the local markets to buy some missing Items, Thereafter, you will have lunch, followed by dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park.
Very early in the morning, you will greet your intestines with a lip-smacking breakfast meal and then check out of the lodge for an 8-10 hour scenic drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park- home to half of the world’s mountain Gorillas. The route to the park is both tarmac and maram, safe, and offering great views of rolling hills, and lush vegetation.
There will be a stopover at the equator point for lunch, before proceeding to the lodge for refreshment, followed by dinner and asleep.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking and Batwa encounter.
Given the fact that Gorillas are very active in the early hours of the day, you will depart your lodge very early in the morning for the sector headquarters for document verification and briefing. The park rangers will explain the tracking rules, allocate you a Gorilla family, and escort you through the Jungle.
This tracking exercise lasts for approximately 1-8 hours, starting from where the creatures were last spotted the previous day. Upon locating them, one extra hour allowance is given for photography, watching the mother’s breastfeed and silverbacks govern the territory and then ask any question related to the apes. Thereafter, you will exit the Jungle for a Lunch break, which will be followed by an after the cultural encounter with the Batwa pygmies – famous hunters and gatherers in the vast forests, and also some of the shortest people in Uganda. A sunset drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Drive back to Entebbe and fly to Nairobi, Kenya.
After a delicious breakfast meal early in the morning, you will check out of the lodge in Bwindi for a 8 hour drive to Entebbe international airport for your flight to the next destination, which is Nairobi, Kenya. Here, you will meet our experienced company representative in Kenya who will brief you and then drive you to a pre-booked hotel in the heart of Nairobi for refreshment, dinner and a nap.
Day 5: Drive to Masai Mara – evening game drive.
At daybreak, you will enjoy a tasty breakfast meal at the lodge, and then checkout for a 6-hour drive to Maasai Mara national park, via the flourishing vegetation, the Great Rift Valley where you will stop for photography, and Narus Centre for lunch.
Upon arriving at the park in the afternoon, you will have a brief refreshment, followed by an evening 2-3 hour game drive, as you search for the nocturnal creatures and day grazers. This day ends with dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 6: Morning game drive and departure.
At sunrise, you will depart the lodge very early in the morning for a 3-4 hour game drive across the vast territories of Masai Mara Park. Three hours will be spent looking out for the prey and predators; notably; lions, leopards, warthogs, wildebeest, and African cape Buffaloes among others.
After this game drive, a delicious breakfast will follow and then a drive to the lodge for lunch, before checking out for a drive to Nairobi for a flight to the next destination.
