8 DAYS UGANDA SAFARI.
Overview.
In this 8 days Uganda safari, our well-planned trip enables you to understand why this was called the pearl of Africa. The trip will center in only one region of the country with whatever you need for vacation time.
Destinations and activities you will engage in include; Lake Mburo national park for game viewing and boat cruise, Bwindi impenetrable national park for gorilla trekking and Batwa pygmies’ encounter and Queen Elizabeth national park for game viewing, boat cruise, tracking the tree-climbing lions, and Chimpanzees tracking. This trip starts and ends at the point of your choice in Kampala.
Detailed safari.
Day 1: Arrival and drive to Lake Mburo national park.
On this day, our company representative will pick you up from the point of agreement, either in Kampala or Entebbe airport and brief you about the entire trip, and then head for lunch in the city.
Thereafter, you will head to Lake Mburo national park; about a 3-4 hour drive; traversing busying streets, and encountering the rare Ankole long-horned cattle. You will go to the Igongo cultural center for a rewarding cultural experience; where you will be exposed to the way of life of different cultures in western Uganda. Thereafter, proceed to the lodge for a peaceful nap after dinner.
Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise.
When the intestines have been greeted with a delicious cup of coffee early in the morning, what follows are the eyes with the magnificent landscape, flora, and fauna, and the ears with the sweet melodies from any angle of the wilderness. This park is dominated by Antelopes that roam and graze namely; impalas, waterbuck, the Oribis, Uganda Kobs, Uganda kobs, and many more, birds and lush flora.
After a 3-4 hour game drive, you will have a delicious lunch meal, followed by an exciting boat cruise that lasts for about 2 hours of fresh breath, fun and sighting the hippos, crocodiles and aquatic birds enjoying their peace. End this day with dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Lake Mburo national park to Bwindi impenetrable national park.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast meal at the lodge, you will check out for a long drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park, traversing the Ankole long-horned cows, scattered homesteads, and verdant plantations. Lunch will be en-route, whereas the drive is safe and secure up to your lodge in the park, where you will have a refreshment, dinner, and overnight.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest and Batwa cultural experience.
Today starts with a delicious breakfast buffet at the lodge and then a 1-8 hour gorilla trekking exercise which follows an early morning briefing by the park rangers for about 30 minutes. Mountain gorillas possess over 98% DNA similar to humans and are only found in the continent of Africa. Upon finding them, a maximum of one hour is given to you to study their unique behaviors, and take photos.
Thereafter, you will return to the lodge for lunch, followed by an afternoon cultural encounter with the Batwa pygmies; enjoying their appearance, dance, and songs. Dinner and overnight is the last activity of the day.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha sector.
You will start your day with a tasty cup of coffee at the lodge, followed by a drive to Queen Elizabeth national park, with an amazing view of terraced Kigezi highlands and undulating hills. The drive will be through the Ishasha sector, where you will track the rare tree-climbing lions for about 2 hours, and thereafter lunch will follow. Afterwards, you will proceed to your lodge for refreshment, dinner and a night rest.
Day 6: Morning game drive and Boat cruise.
On daybreak, you will enjoy a tasty cup of coffee at the lodge. Thereafter, a 3-4 hour game drive follows, with luck offering you several sights and sounds of different residents here, notably; lions, leopards, herds of African cape Buffalos, and the rare Antelope species such as the Uganda Kobs among others.
Thereafter, you will have a lunch break, followed by a rewarding 2-3 hour boat cruise in the Kazinga channel; which offers great views of hippos, crocodiles, aquatic birds, and several mammals quenching their thirst at the shoreline. Thereafter, the beautiful sunset rays will escort you to the lodge for refreshment, dinner, and overnight.
Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura gorge and afternoon birding.
Start this day with a hefty breakfast meal and then head for an exciting encounter with the chimpanzees-man’s closest relative at Kyambura gorge. You will be briefed at the trailhead by the park rangers who will explain the rules governing this experience, as well as how to make unforgettable memories with these rare primates.
The experience can last for about 4 hours, before heading back for a tasty lunch meal at the lodge. In the evening, you will have a two-hour birding experience, while looking out for the Turacos, crested cranes, geenefowls among others. Thereafter, return to the lodge for the campfire, followed by dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Departure.
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge for an exit drive to Entebbe international airport. Lunch break will be at the equator, where you will also take photos and observe the magical demonstrations that confirm the presence of a marginal line that divides the world in two spheres; the northern and the southern hemisphere. The driver-guide will surely bid you farewell at the agreed drop off point.
